This specialized parent-child class is designed to nurture your child’s language development through the joy of music.   Before children decode words on a page, they must first decode the sounds they hear. Our weekly sessions use rhythm, movement, fingerplay songs, and musical storytelling to naturally strengthen phonological awareness, the ability to hear and manipulate sounds in spoken language. Research shows that children who engage deeply with rhythm, rhyme, and musical patterns often develop stronger listening and sound awareness skills that support early literacy. Together, we will explore how music supports memory, listening, language development, and the foundational skills needed for reading.   This class is co-created and taught by an Early Childhood Education and Music Specialist who holds an Advanced Professional Certificate from Berklee College of Music and has over a decade of experience teaching music classes. Often times, Santa’s workshop isn’t set up for wheelchairs. It’s noisy, hot, and rushed. As parents, this can be heartbreaking, because all we want as parents is to let our child make ‘normal’ childhood memories. Making good memories with our children is imperative to our mental health, our family experience, and our resiliency for when our children experience medical setbacks or challenges. BennettStrong with Santa is a chance to unwind, cherish your child, and make loving memories with Santa!Imagine: No noisy lines in a hot space with Christmas music, flash photos, and a rush to get your picture taken. Families can book a time slot that is just for them and Santa. Families will have time for their child to get comfortable: Santa is available for the classic lap photo or candid shots interacting with your child. Minimal flash photography, and Santa’s workshop is fully accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, and equipment. If your child has a special toy that they want to show Santa, bring it. Families will receive all the photos of their children to the email of their choice. BennettStrong will also have a table full of freebies and a sweet keepsake for families to take home with them. 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM	American Mah Jongg - Club FALL (evening) Why do so many people enjoy playing American Mah Jongg?  Above all, it is fun and social!  It is a challenging, tile-based strategy game that combines skill with luck. Players attempt to match a hand from scores of possibilities - and although winning a game is satisfying, ALMOST winning is sometimes just as much fun!  Instructional - The instructor will explain the basics of the game and provide you with the fundamental skills needed to enjoy playing.  All participants will receive their own official National Mah Jongg League card which lists this year’s playing hands and the rules of the game.Club - An opportunity for beginning players to get together and practice their skills.  All skill levels welcome and help is always appreciated.  Players must bring their own National Mah Jongg League Card.   * Note for Club Players: Club play is designed for individuals who are already familiar with the game of American Mah Jongg. This is not a learning session; players are expected to know the rules and be able to play independently.
